VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT:

Food is a very personal issue for most people. They do not want to be told what they can or cannot eat, but do wish to have the advantages of a vegetarian diet explained to them. Vegetarians of Washington wishes to show people the positive aspects of making vegetarian choices. Our emphasis is on food at all times—we do not hold an opinion on any other topic, and refrain from discussing potentially sensitive topics (such as politics) at VoW events or tables. It is important to us that our volunteers look and behave appropriately on all occasions and do not impose their personal beliefs on other people. We therefore ask you to read and agree to the following agreement:

  • I understand that people interested in vegetarian food choices have a full range of backgrounds and beliefs.
  • I understand that people just considering dropping meat from their diet may proceed at their own pace and only make small changes.
  • I release Vegetarians of Washington and all its members from any liability connected with volunteering for this event.
  • I will not smoke, drink alcohol or engage in any inappropriate behavior while volunteering for VoW.
  • I will dress appropriately, and be polite and friendly to everyone.
  • I will follow the instructions of Vegetarians of Washington leadership in fulfilling my role.
  •  I will stay at my assigned role until another volunteer takes over from me, or the leader for my role confirms that I can leave.
  • I will bring a signed parental consent form (if under 18).

I agree to the above and would like to volunteer for Vegfest!

Volunteers are essential to making Vegfest a success. Please only submit this application when you are really sure that you are willing and able to volunteer at Vegfest at the times you have indicated. We will confirm the role and shift which we assign you to via email within the next few days. We’re counting on you to be there!
